| Announcement: See you next season... |
| Posted: MikeD @ Fri Jul 06, 2007 5:01 pm |
Well, now that the season has ended, we can reflect on what we accomplished, what we learned, and what we need to do to improve for next season.....
Luckily, we don't have to wait long. Next season starts next week (7/15)! Yes, opening day is against the Elmjack Bluejays (0-0) next Sunday July 15th at 1:30 PM at the Elmjack Babe Ruth field (the nice one). Okay, so this season is not technically over, but after this long break, we should go into these last 10 games with a fresh start and a fresh attitude. What do we need? What areas do we need to work on?
One thing we need is to give our overworked pitching staff some help. So that's what we're doing. We're in final negotiations with 2 pitchers including one young lefty whose stuff our scouts say is "electric". He is expected to make his debut next Sunday against Elmjack.
Another thing we need is more consistent practice. If we could get a weekly thing going with more than 3 or 4 attendees. Let me know which weekday(s) would work for everyone for practice. Getting a field has not been a problem lately, so even if you can only come from 7 to 8, that would work great. Ideally, we could have at least 6 or 7 people and that way we could bring the catcher's gear and face live pitching and stuff. I would go so far as to guarantee that it would make a noticeable difference once game day rolls around.
So here's to a fresh start. In terms of batting, we're all 0/0; fielding, no errors; pitching, 0.00 ERA with 0 BBs.
Love,
Mike D
