Memorial Weekend - Sunday 8:00 AM
Game has been changed to 10:00 AM (and is now a practice, not game). Here's who I have coming so far: Mike D Pete Mike N Mike Mo Andrew Andy Lou Clark Here's who can't make it: Simon Chris Steve I'll update this list as I get responses. UPDATE: I just saw the manager of the Heat at the managers' meeting and he said that they would not have enough players this weekend. This means that we either have to reschedule, or accept victory by forfeit. It's up to us. We already have to make up a game against the Renegades (1-9). It will be a single 9-inning game (Date TBD) as voted by the league. According to the schedule I was given at the meeting, the only slot available for a makeup that doesn't coincide with another double-header in the same weekend is July 1st (because the All-Star game is July 4th). There are other make-up slots open, but it would mean playing 4 games in a weekend and I'm not sure we have the pitching to do that. I know Andrew has a rubber arm, and we have some un-*test*-('")ed relief pitchers, but we've lost Chris Adamo until July. So what do you all think? Should we take the wins by forfeit or try to reschedule. The Heat mentioned that July 1st would probably not be good for them either and that they don't have enough pitchers to play 4 games in a weekend. Either way, we will have a practice Sunday from 10 AM to Noon at 145th St. It's one of the few times we have a guaranteed field and can have a meaningful practice. I now have copies of all the permits too. Plus we can sleep an extra 2 hours. Remember our goal is to take the next 4, so the first 2 may be too easy, but that doesn't mean we should rest. Practice Today (Friday): I know that some of us are planning to go to Central Park again today. I will be there at 5:30 or hopefully earlier (I might get out of work at like 3 since it's Memorial Day weekend). Practice Wednesday was pretty good. Me, Andy, Andrew, Pete, Mike N and Clark had a good work out and had some good luck with fields.

I will be there as you noted unless by some weird thing 145th blows up. It's possible depends on when I get my bomb making material. Let's make sure these guys are showing up for the game (the other team), 8AM, memorial day weekend, I don't know, I don't want to show up and stand around like morons at 8AM. Then we could just practice I guess. Listen to the podcast. A couple of bombshells this week. I reveal a member of the team that once had sex with a dog. Juicy stuff Michael

I'd like to reschedule. Nobody really likes to win by forfeit, and nobody likes to lose by forfeit (as we found out last year). It seems like the nice thing to do. HOWEVER, if the Heat don't have enough pitchers for 4 games on a weekend then they don't seem to be giving us any choice, if that means that they don't want to play 4 games in a weekend. Get a set date on the rescheduling. So yeah, I'd like to reschedule but only if the Heat are willing to play.

I agree with Peter

Steel cage match Why don't we just do a split? 1-1 and call it that?

pilamds- 05-26-2006

split 1-1? would that mean calling it a wash? we aren't the ones that don't have enough to show. either we play which would be ideal or they forfeit. I am fine with the wrestling, boxing or ultimate fighting. I think we could take them
