Frets on Fire: Rock out on your computer keyboard I found a really fun game the other day called Frets on Fire. Basically it's like that game Guitar Hero on the PS2, only it's free and you don't need an expensive guitar peripheral, just your keyboard. You hold the keyboard like a guitar (looking like a total dork in the process, I'm sure) and use F1-F5 for frets and the enter key to strum. It's loads of fun, here's where you can get it: http://louhi.kempele.fi/~skyostil/uv/fretsonfire/
The other advantage it has over Guitar Hero (aside from being free) is that you can make custom songs for it, and download other people's songs. So you can rock out to your favorite song. Here's where you can download a bunch: http://frets.freenerd.org/?songs
HOWEVER, just a warning, a lot of those songs suck for Frets on Fire. Basically, to make a good track for this game you need to really separate the guitar tracks from the background tracks, otherwise you're just raising the volume on the thing and it doesn't feel like you're in control at all. Duckburg is a good one from that site, Paranoid (by Black Sabbath) is pretty bad (no feeling of control at all), and the rest I haven't really tried.
To make a really good one of an existing song seems pretty hard. You need to find a version of the song without the lead guitar, which seems pretty hard to find (although this site: http://www.licklibrary.com/jamtrax.asp seems to have a decent selection that you can buy), otherwise the only option you have is to try to mute the guitar using an audio program, which doesn't really work that well I don't think.
I made a Megaman one that I think is pretty good: http://awful.kibblesnbits.net/fretsonfire/Megaman%20-%20Elecman.rar
(others that I haven't tried are available on that site: http://awful.kibblesnbits.net/fretsonfire/ ). You need to set the difficulty to Amazing for that megaman one otherwise you won't see anything (it's actually pretty easy, I made it Amazing by mistake). Nintendo games lend themselves to this game pretty well since it is extremely easy to isolate the guitar and background tracks using the actual nintendo files (.nsf's, use google to find .nsf collections and players if you want).

AWESOME! I just tried your mega man. Nice job... but then my boss came in and saw me standing on the chair rocking out with the keyboard. Oh well...
