Continuation of Beers Vs Empire
Sunday August 12th - 9:00 AM - Continuation of Suspended Game - We have a chance to continue our suspended game against the Empire this Sunday August 12th at 9:00 AM @ Elmjack ALT. Since this is a continuation of a suspended game, it may only last a half inning since we were the home team coming up. If Pete (who is due to lead off) hits a leadoff HR on the first pitch, then the game could only last about 15 seconds or so (depending on how fast he runs the bases). Ok, it's obviously a lot to ask people to come out for what could only be 15 seconds of game time, so we'll only do it if we can get 8 or 9 guys who want to go AND this is assuming that the Empire will show (which we'll know beforehand). I know it's not the ideal time slot either, but we can't expect the league to accommodate us since this game bears no importance in the playoffs. However, it does have the potential to be an exciting walk-off win for us. And as some added incentive, there will be a serious barbecue all day, all kinds of games going on, some should be pretty exciting if you're watching the NYCMBL playoff race. It'll be a good chance to get funburned. So, 2 answers are needed for this email, and the questions are: 1) Saturday? Yes/No (Circle one) 2) Sunday? Yes/No/Unsure (Circle one) If unsure, just let me know your thoughts. A big factor of this game getting played is if the other team can make it.. and knowing them, they might be too stoned to make it that early :) Sunday's continuation obviously will not get us into the playoffs or anything, so that's why it's being treated as a strictly voluntary endeavor. It would be nice to get a win instead of a loss if it comes down to it. Plus might be exciting.. so if you'd like to discuss do so on the Message Board.
