Beers score 1 run over the weekend! Woo Hoo!
The Beers lost another 2 by terrible scores. Some positive things to point out: Andrew had a good game going 2 for 2 with the only RBI of the day and raised his average to .300. Lou made a nice relief appearance. I've noticed that we don't throw the ball around anymore. That's one area of improvement. Now if we can just work on the hitting, we'll be able to contend. We're not out of it yet. So everyone has 2 days to learn how to hit :) Also, just wanted to remind everyone that the All-Star game is on July 2nd at College Point. It's going to have food, festivities, a HR derby and should be a good time. Mark it on your calendar. Game 1 Box Score Game 2 Box Score Podcast

podcast
Mike N, I was going to come here and argue with you about the game being mental, but then I realized that you proved my point earlier in the podcast. You previously stated that you weren't hitting because you were thinking about playing the field. BOOYA! That's mental.

I am not going to respond on my podcast where the whole world listens so not to embarass you. Sounds like someone's been watching a little too much Jim Cramer with that Booya comment. Not surprised by the posting, after all you do play soccer. It sounds to me like you do believe that it's mental. How bout this, next time you pitch and you don't bat well it will because you were pitching and needed to concentrate. That makes no sense and anyone who would say that is a complete idiot. But thank you for listening to my podcast, I value each and every listener except for those listening in San Francisco and France. They are a bunch of non confrontational hippy tree hugging unemployed losers who wear jeans and sandals together

yeah
Well YOU said that YOU did it...so I can only assume that you were talking about YOURSELF...you can't change your mind now, the podcast is the final truth

MikeD- 06-16-2006

I think it was being sarcastic....

I acknowledge that I have seen the previous message. All I can say is that I love each and every listener regardless of their opinions of me, without you, there would be no reason to do the show. Even though you disagree the fact that you listen means it was worth recording. Thank You!!!

I don't really approve of insulting people on the podcast but Mike N's gotta vent his frustration somehow I guess. It's his show and we're not really going to censor him. And just to add a disclaimer, the opinions represented in the podcast do not represent those of the Beers. I know I don't agree with all of Mike N's ultraconservative Shuttle-train bashing tirades. So don't blame the whole team for whatever he happens to say.

If a listener doesn't like something said on the podcast he should do which of the following: a) post on the message board stating what points he had a problem with and argue his counterpoint b) nothing, because who cares? c) call the manager and demand that the podcast be taken off the air and threaten to show up to games to physically harm players if it isn't or d) take a long look in the mirror and wonder why he has nothing better to do than keep tabs on a team that he got fired from Guess which of the above choices James aka "The Brooklyn Bad Boy" chose.   I think James would be a great guest and would present an interesting argument defending his correlation of our recent troubles to his dismissal from the team. It would also be funny to have him defend his athletic ability and any other points he disagreed with. However, as much of a comic goldmine that would be, it would mean him having continued contact with the team, which I'm against. I'm not sure why he still tunes in to the podcast and keeps tabs on us. Some people just can't let go I guess. *I realize that even commenting on this isn't the professional thing to do for a manager, but I'm not Joe Torre, and we're not the Yankees, and this isn't going to end up on the back page of the paper.

In conclusion: who cares. There's a lot more to life than amateur baseball, and getting insulted is unfortunately a part of life. You just have to get over it. Really, let's not continue this discussion. What's done is done, and none of it really matters in the great scheme of things, so everybody should just relax.

I was ready to let it go but then Peter had to have the audacity to bring the very sensitive topic of the times square shuttle back into the fray. For a non confrontational person you get involved in very confrontational topics. I will be up for next 6 hours defending my stance on that issue. Long live the 7 train!!!

Beers Week 9 Pocast preview
Since it is apparent that listenship has skyrocketed...here's what you can look forward to this week. The beers have been subject to the mercy rule for the second straight week but I will tell you why its not nearly as bad as it looks Fat Nick Minuchi case will not be on this week for sensitivity reasons. Tune in next week when I will go back to being a jerk. Did you know that money given to Katrina victims was used for sex change operations and girls gone wild video tapes? I'm also going to the address the stuff on the message boards and the threats made in my direction, you're not going to want to miss this. Plus the recap, the rant, and much much more so tune in to the tigh-*test*-('") 40 minutes in radio
