7/2/05 - BEERS WIN! BEERS WIN! (W, 14-13, 10th)
It was a nailbiter to the end. The Beers came out on top in the bottom of the 10th inning on a walk-off RBI single by Brendan Carey. Dave Sansone contributed to the win not only by hitting a 3-run blast in the 4th, but also by having pizza and Coke delivered to the field which gave us the sustanance we needed to go all 10 innings. Brian Moore volunteered to start the game (scheduled starter Chad Wilcomb was stuck on the train) and had a good start. He baffled the Mad Dogs striking out 6 batters in 3 innings (2 in which he held the Mad Dogs scoreless). Then Chad arrived and held it down for the next 5 innings. Trailing 8-4 in the 6th, The Beers rallied for 9 runs to take a 13-8 lead. The score remained that way until the 9th, when those fighting Mad Dogs came all they way back to tie it. So it was bonus baseball. And Adam Hill came in to shut them down. Which he did, despite walking the bases loaded. In the bottom of the 10th, Chad led off with a walk, Mike D singled, Mike N had a good at bat, coming back from 0-2 to draw a walk and load the bases.
